Author Bio
Ohio-born and shaped by life across the map, from Kentucky’s Appalachian foothills to the Pacific Northwest and the islands of Saipan and Japan, Sheena Black has always believed stories are what make a place feel like home. Her travels and lived experiences continue to inspire the emotional, atmospheric fiction she writes today.
Blending heart, hope, mystery, and transformation, Sheena writes stories rooted in the idea that every unexpected path can lead us closer to who we are meant to become. When she isn’t writing, you’ll find her watching classic films, revisiting favorite 80s movies, or curled up with a good book.
Rooted in Appalachian storytelling traditions and family history connected to figures such as Jenny Wiley, Loretta Lynn, and Crystal Gayle, Sheena draws inspiration from the people, places, and voices that shaped generations of storytellers before her.
Sheena is also a passionate advocate for those living with rare diseases and invisible disabilities, using her platform to encourage compassion, understanding, and support for often overlooked communities.
Her current novel, Ember’s Journey, is an adult urban-paranormal fantasy exploring the belief that we all carry a light within us.
She is currently developing additional works across Southern romance, thriller, speculative fiction, commercial fiction, and upmarket fiction. After more than thirty years of storytelling, Sheena is bringing her stories to life one project at a time while seeking the right literary agent to champion her work.
